Jamal Tabasinejad is a distinguished visual artist with over 40 years of professional experience across a broad spectrum of artistic disciplines. His practice spans oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolour, charcoal, ink, and mixed media, applied on surfaces such as canvas, wood, clay, stone, paper, and metal. His diverse material vocabulary reflects a deep engagement with texture, form, and historical resonance.
Renowned as the first researching painter to study and visually document the textures of the Iranian desert, Tabasinejad holds an Honorary Ph.D. in Visual Arts from Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. He is also the author of the seminal work “Three Millennia of Art and Architecture in Iran”, a research-based visual exploration of Iran’s artistic heritage.

In addition to his artistic practice, Jamal Tabasinejad is a seasoned educator, having taught drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media for many years.

He is highly regarded for his mentorship and deep knowledge of classical and modern techniques. Furthermore, he is a recognized expert in the restoration and conservation of ancient paintings and cultural artifacts, contributing to the preservation of artistic heritage.

• Over 40 years of work experience as a Painter: creating drawings, paintings and other artwork using oils, acrylic, pastels, watercolors, charcoal, ink and other media

• Experienced in creating sculptures, statues and other three dimensional artwork by shaping, carving and working with materials such as clay, paper, stone, wood or metal

• Many years of experience as an instructor and Teacher, teaching students the techniques and methods of drawing, painting, sculpting and other forms of artistic expression

• Skilled in reading specifications to determine quantities of materials required

• Expert in preparing and cleaning surfaces using methods such as scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydro blasting and steam cleaning; remove old wallpaper and loose paint; repair cracks and holes in walls; and sandpaper and apply sealer

• Ability to mix and thin paint to obtain desired color and texture

• Skilled to apply paint or other materials, such as stains, lacquer, enamel, oil, varnish, fiberglass, metal coating or fire retardant using brushes, rollers or spray equipment

• Experienced in measurements, cut and apply wallpaper or fabric to walls

• Proven ability to assemble and erect scaffolding and swing stages

• Expert in advising customers on selection of color schemes and choice of wall coverings

• Developed good communications skills and can provide cost estimates to clients
